Patriarchal leadership structures have been a topic of discussion among researchers for a long time as they can lead to significant issues in workplaces. Nigeria is one country that operates a patriarchal leadership structure, which has affected its business environment. Nigeria has a patriarchal system that places societal expectations on what roles men and women should play. Male leaders are perceived as more assertive and better suited for leadership roles, leading to the marginalization of women in the workplace. This mindset has not only transcended family life but also business life. Gender diversity in the workplace is not just a morality issue but also a business issue.  Organizations that achieve diversity and equality have shown to perform better. Unfortunately, patriarchy in Nigeria and other countries has made it challenging for women to attain leadership roles, leading to reduced creativity and productivity. UNICEF Report: 78 Million Children at Risk from Water Crisis in Nigeria

According to a new report by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), 3 out of every 5 children in Nigeria, amounting to 78 million, are at risk of facing a water-related crisis including lack of access to clean drinking water and poor sanitation. Although Nigeria has made progress in providing better water sources, the issue of inadequate sanitation facilities persists. UNICEF's report indicates that only one in four people in Nigeria practice good hygiene, which in turn leads to outbreaks of water-borne diseases like cholera and diarrhea. Sadly, girls are more affected than boys due to the lack of access to clean water and a disparity in sanitation services, which renders them vulnerable to different forms of gender-based violence.
